Viz Media announced on Tuesday that it will publish the Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire manga, a continuation of Satoshi Yamamoto and Hidenori Kusaka's Pocket Monsters Special (Pokémon Adventures) manga. The first volume will retail for US$4.99 in September.

Viz Media describes the story:

Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald face a new crisis of epic proportions: a giant meteor hurtling toward the planet! Don't miss these awesome new adventures inspired by the best-selling Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire video games and picking up where the Pokémon Adventures Ruby and Sapphire saga left off!

The company also announced that it will release Santa Harukaze's Pokémon Pocket Comics manga as a two-volume box set. The box set will retail for US$16.99 and is slated for October.

Viz Media describes the manga:

The Pokémon Pocket Comics Box Set contains two pocket-sized books, each jam-packed with four-panel comic strips. The first volume features Pokémon Black & White characters, and the second volume features Legendary characters from the Pokémon series. Created by Santa Harukaze, both are full of vital statistics, trivia, puzzles, fun quizzes and more!

Shogakukan's Web Sunday digital manga website began serializing Pocket Monsters Special Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire arc manga in January 2015. The second compiled volume shipped in February. The manga serves as the 13th part of the Pocket Monsters Special manga series.

Nintendo released Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire in November 2014 for the Nintendo 3DS as remakes of the Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire games for the Game Boy Advance. Viz Media releases the Pokémon: Black and White, Pokémon Adventures - Ruby & Sapphire, Pokémon Adventures: Platinum, and other manga in the franchise in North America.

Viz Media publishes Kusaka and Yamamoto's Pokémon Adventures: X & Y (Pocket Monsters Special: X & Y) manga series as part of its Perfect Square imprint for kids. The first volume debuted in physical and digital formats in December 2014. The seventh volume shipped in July.
