Nintendo Confirms Switch's NVIDIA Processor, HD Display, 48 Publishers & Developers

System comes with detachable Joy-Con controllers & Switch Dock to connect to TV

Nintendo and NVIDIA posted more details on Switch, the hybrid home/handheld system previously codenamed "NX." The Nintendo Switch offers a custom NVIDIA Tegra processor with an NVIDIA GPU, a high-definition display, detachable Joy-Con controllers, and a Nintendo Switch Dock for connecting the system to a television.

A player can choose to hold a Joy-Con controller in each hand, use two controllers when they are attached directly to the main Switch device, split the two controllers with a second player, or attach the controllers to a Joy-Con Grip accessory. The player can also use an optional Nintendo Switch Pro Controller instead of the Joy-Con controllers. In addition, groups can "bring their Nintendo Switch systems together to enjoy local multiplayer face-to-face competition."

Nintendo also announced 48 publishers, developers and middleware partners who are supporting the system:

Nintendo added, "Full game demonstrations, the list of launch window titles, as well as launch date, price, product configuration and related specifics, will be shown and announced prior to the March launch."
