Toshio Maeda to Appear in Portland, Autograph Urotsukidoji Manga to Benefit CBLDF

Fakku joins CBLDF as corporate member

Hentai publisher Fakku and the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund (CBLDF) announced last week that manga creator Toshio Maeda will appear in Portland, Oregon on Thursday, December 8 for a Q&A session. The event will take place from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at Floating World Comics and will coincide with Fakku's release of Maeda's Urotsukidoji (Urotsukidoji: Legend of the Overfiend).

In addition, Fakku is offering signed and personalized copies of Urotsukidoji manga to anyone who donates US$60 to the CBLDF. Requests must be sent by Tuesday, December 6.

The CBLDF announced on the same day that Fakku has joined the organization as a corporate member.

Fakku previously launched a successful Kickstarter campaign in June to publish a remastered edition of Urotsukidoji: Legend of the Overfiend. The campaign raised US$60,021, going over the campaign's initial US$47,000 goal.

The campaign is first part of a collaboration between Fakku and Maeda to publish the latter's entire collection of hentai manga in English. Other manga included in the project include: La Blue Girl, Demon Beast Invasion, and Adventure Kid.

WANIMAGAZINE Co., Ltd. originally published Urotsukidoji's six volumes from 1986 to 1987, and CPM Manga published an English version from 2002 to 2003.

The manga received an anime adaptation and several sequels. Critical Mass Video released Urotsukidoji: New Saga, a remake of the original anime adaptation, on DVD in 2011.

Update: The Kickstarter campaign did not meet its US$87,000 stretch goal for Maeda to update the artwork. Thanks, littlegreenwolf.
