Elex Media Re-releases Codename: Sailor V Manga

Company 1st published manga prequel of Sailor Moon in 1997

Indonesian publisher Elex Media Komputindo announced on Sunday that it will re-release Naoko Takeuchi's Codename: Sailor V manga. The release will be based on the manga's two-volume 2003 reprint in Japan. The publisher will release the first volume on January 4.

The 1991 manga Codename: Sailor V revolves around middle schooler Minako Aino, a magical girl and crime fighter. In the more well-known 1992 Sailor Moon series, Minako Aino is the side character "Sailor V" while Usagi Tsukino takes the lead role, the titular Sailor Moon.

Elex Media originally published the manga in Indonesia in 1997. The company also published Sailor Moon manga from 1993 to 1998, and it has been publishing the the 2003 reprints of Sailor Moon in Indonesia since 2014. Elex Media released the 11th and final volume of the manga on November 2.

Indonesian channel Indosiar aired the anime from 1995 to 2000.
