Seven Seas previously released the original texts of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass, The Wizard of Oz and The Marvelous Land of Oz, and Pride & Prejudice with manga-style illustrations. These editions were released first in English, but Seven Seas' five newly announced illustrated classics were published first in Japan by Kadokawa Tsubasa Bunko.
