Nioh PS4 Game's 2nd Story Trailer Centers on Ishida Mitsunari, Tokugawa Ieyasu

3rd demo for game launching in February available this weekend only

Koei Tecmo Games began streaming a second "Legend of Nioh" story movie on Friday, titled "The Two Samurai Competing for the Country," for its Nioh "dark warring-states action RPG" for the PlayStation 4. The trailer discusses the history between the famous historical figures Ishida Mitsunari and Tokugawa Ieyasu, and protagonist William's (nickname: Anjin) place in the story and at the Battle of Sekigahara.

Koei Tecmo Games began streaming the first story movie, titled "The Man Called 'Nioh'," in December.

Koei Tecmo Games also began streaming a gameplay video for the game's third and final demo, which launched at midnight JST on Saturday (10:00 a.m. EST on Friday). The demo is only available for 48 hours, and is also available in English.

The company is also streaming a two-hour video for the game featuring the game's staff talking about the demo, playing the game, and giving other information about the game.

Nioh launches for the PlayStation 4 on February 7 in North America, on February 8 in Europe, and on February 9 in Japan.

Team Ninja (Dead or Alive series, Dissidia Final Fantasy arcade) is developing the game. The game received an alpha demo from April 26 to May 5 and a beta demo from August 23 to September 6. Those who cleared a stage of the alpha demo will get "The Mark of the Conqueror" DLC from the PlayStation Network once the game officially launches. Additionally, those who completed the alpha demo will receive the "Onryoma Helmet," while those who completed the beta demo will receive the “Hinoenma Helmet.”

Koei Tecmo Games Europe describes the game as follows:

In the dark, fantasy action RPG Nioh, players will traverse war-torn Japan as William, a blonde-haired swordsman whose background as a fierce warrior and seasoned knowledge of the blade allows him to survive in the demon-plagued land of the samurai. Players will face off against other samurai in epic sword battles and intense, multi-target engagements offering a level of difficulty that will truly test even the most hardened samurai's skills, patience, and strategy.

Koei Tecmo Games' general producer Kou Shibusawa is working on the game. Before KOEI merged with Tecmo, it had previously announced the game, then Romanized as Ni-Oh, as a PlayStation 3 release in 2004. At the time, the game was based on concepts from the late acclaimed film director Akira Kurosawa (The Seven Samurai, Rashomon, Ran).
