Survival Game Club's Matsumoto Ends Kyōkai no Micrina Manga in 3rd Volume

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Final volume of manga about world-conquering witch slated for April

The second compiled book volume of Hidekichi Matsumoto's Kyōkai no Micrina (Micrina of Border) revealed last Friday that the manga's third volume will be its last. The third volume is slated to ship in April.

The story begins when the titular witch Micrina crosses over from the demon world to the human world. Micrina is on a mission to conquer the human world, at least until she discovers that the modern world has "magic" of its own that makes conquest difficult. The witch saves a high school girl named Enomoto from trouble and ends up living with her. It becomes clear to Micrina that this will be no ordinary invasion. Still, she doesn't give up her dream of conquest.

Matsumoto launched the manga in Kodansha's Shonen Magazine Edge in September 2015. Kodansha published the first volume last June and the second volume on February 17.

Matsumoto launched the Survival Game Club! (Sabagebu!) manga in 2011 and ended the series in December. The manga inspired a 12-episode television anime series and an OVA episode in 2014. Crunchyroll streamed the series, and Sentai Filmworks licensed the series for North America. Sentai Filmworks released the anime on home video in September 2015.

Matsumoto will launch the new manga Neko Iro Hokenshitsu (Cat-Type School Infirmary) in Kodansha's Nakayoshi magazine on March 3.
