Media Blasters Offers Live-Action 009-1 Film on Blu-ray Disc

Media Blasters confirmed on Friday that it is offering the 009-1: The End of the Beginning live-action film on Blu-ray Disc with a May 2 release.
The company will also release the the Rio - Rainbow Gate! television anime series on DVD and Blu-ray Disc with an English dub on May 2.

In the near future, the world is divided into opposing Western and Eastern blocs. J-Country is a border war zone for the ongoing conflict between the two superpowers. Mylene is 009, a beautiful cyborg spy working for the Western block's "00" division. Her latest assignment is to expose a human trafficking operation and rescue an abducted scientist who created the Faust Project (a covert advanced cyborg technology). Can the one-woman demolition squad accomplish her deadly mission and rescue the human memory of her former self?
Media Blasters released the film in 2014 on DVD as part of its Tokyo Shock label.
The film is based on the 009-1 manga by the late Shōtarō Ishinomori. The film opened in Japan in September 2013. Kōichi Sakamoto (Power Rangers, Daikaijū Battle: Ultra Ginga Densetsu The Movie) directed the film and Mayuko Iwasa (Detective Conan's Sonoko Suzuki, live-action Nodame Cantabile's Reina Ishikawa) stars as the titular cyborg agent Mylene "009-1" Hoffman.
