Series had been on hiatus since November 2015 due to author's poor health

The official website of Shinchosha's Monthly Comic @Bunch magazine revealed on Friday that Kohske's Gangsta. manga will resume in the magazine's July issue, which will ship on May 20. Additionally, from May 15-28, all 42 chapters of the manga released so far will be available to read for free on the website.

The magazine had announced in November 2015 that the manga was going on hiatus due to the author's poor health.

The manga revolves around Nick and Worick, two men who take on jobs from both the mafia and the police in the town of Ergastulum, a rotten town filled with mafia, hoodlums, prostitutes, and dirty cops.

Kohske launched the original manga in Shinchosha's Monthly Comic @Bunch magazine in 2010, and Shinchosha published the manga's seventh compiled volume in July 2015. Viz Media released the seventh volume in North America in July 2016. Viz Media has also licensed Syuhei Kamo's Gangsta: Cursed spinoff manga, and will release the second compiled volume on May 16.

A 12-episode anime adaptation of the manga premiered in July 2015. Funimation streamed the series as it aired with English subtitles, along with an English broadcast dub. The anime's third through sixth home video release in Japan were delayed in 2015, but have resumed release this year.
