The official website for COLOPL's Battle Girl High School smartphone role-playing game revealed the key visual, theme song artists, and premiere date on Friday for the anime adaptation of the game.

The anime will premiere on Tokyo MX and BS11 on July 2 at 24:30 (effectively July 3 at 12:30 a.m.) before airing on Kansai TV at 25:55 (effectively at 1:55 a.m.). The anime will also stream online in Japan, but the anime's official website will reveal the streaming platforms later.

The 18 cast members who play the "Hoshimori" characters in the anime will perform the opening theme song "Hoshi no Kizuna" (Star Bonds). f*f is performing the ending theme song "Melody Ring." kz from livetune is composing both songs.

The smartphone game's main cast are reprising their roles for the anime. The cast includes:

Noriaki Akitaya (Bakuman., Castle Town Dandelion) is directing the anime at SILVER LINK. Yasuyuki Ōishi (Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches, Blade & Soul episode director) is serving as assistant director, and Kazuo Miyake (Gintama, Code Geass episode director) is serving as series director. Yousuke Kuroda (My Hero Academia, Gundam Build Fighters) is in charge of series composition. Shuuhei YAMAMOTO (Anime De Training! Ex) and Hideki Furukawa (Magic of Stella, Invaders of the Rokujyōma!?) are designing the characters.

The school action role-playing game is set in the year 2045. The world has been contaminated by Irōsu (mysterious invaders who suddenly appeared), and humans find themselves restricted and contained. Standing boldly against these invaders are ordinary girls everywhere, without a powerful army or even weapons. The Shinjugammine Girls Academy is a school for these "Hoshimori" (Star Guardians) destined to fight the Irōsu. The player is assigned to this academy to train the girls and take back the contaminated Earth.

COLOPL launched the game as a free-to-play app (with in-game item purchases) for iOS and Android devices in 2015.
