Fantasy series based on Hiroyuki Etō's manga premieres on July 11

The official website for Magical Circle — the new television anime adaptation of Hiroyuki Etō's original Mahōjin Guru Guru (Magical Circle Guru Guru) manga — began streaming the show's second promotional video on Sunday. The video previews ORESAMA's opening theme song "Trip Trip Trip."

The show's official website also revealed on Monday that Nobuhiko Okamoto is joining the show's cast as Raid.

The anime will premiere on TV Tokyo, TV Aichi, and TV Setouchi late at night on July 11 (effectively in the early morning of July 12). The anime will then air later on TV Osaka, TV Hokkaido, TVQ Kyushu Broadcasting, and AT-X. Each episode will be 30 minutes long.

The anime stars:

Shizuka Ishigami as Nike

Konomi Kohara as Kukuri

Katsuyuki Konishi as Kita Kita Oyaji

Yukiyo Fujii as Toma

Takahiro Sakurai as Gipple

The story takes place in a world gripped by hero mania after a proclamation was sent out for heroes to gather to defeat the demon king. A boy named Nike is half-forced by his parents to go on a journey. As part of his town's custom, he visits an old witch's house on the outskirts of town before he sets off. There, he sees a girl named Kukuri who uses a magical circle. The old witch tells Nike that Kukuri is the last descendent of the Migumigu tribe, which can use the magical circles. Thus begins the adventure of the frivolous small hero and the naive magician girl.

Hiroshi Ikehata (Seiyu's Life!, Robot Girls Z, Akiba's Trip: The Animation) is the show's "series director," and Tetsuaki Watanabe (episode director for all three seasons of Haikyu!!) is the assistant director at Production I.G. Hisaaki Okui (Hacka Doll the Animation director under the name Ikuo Geso) is handling the series composition, and Naoyuki Asano (Mr. Osomatsu, Saint Young Men) is the character designer. The new anime adaptation will not be a sequel of previous anime or an adaptation of the Mahōjin Guru Guru 2 manga, but will start with the story of the manga's first chapter when Nike and Kukuri meet in Jimina Village.
