manni's Tsumasaki no Uchū Manga Gets Live-Action Film in 2018

Akihisa Yachida directs film about socially withdrawn woman

The free manga and novel app Comico revealed on Friday that manni's Tsumasaki no Uchū (Tiptoe Universe) manga is getting a live-action film adaptation. The film is slated to open in Japan in 2018.

The manga's story centers on Aki, who has cut off her relationships with other people. The themes of the series are past, the voice of the heart, and growth. An incident with Aki's friends in the past and her relationship with her parents cause her to become unable to express herself in words. Aki's withdrawn life begins to change little by little after she meets coworkers at her part-time job.

Akihisa Yachida is directing the film, and Shinichi Nomura is writing the script. The pair previously worked together on the Mama wa Nihon e Yome ni Iccha Dame to Iu Keredo. live-action film and Haikei, Minpaku-sama. live-action television series.

The film is holding auditions for women to have speaking roles in the film. The application period is running from July 21 to July 30. The auditions will be held through the live distribution platform SHOWROOM, and audition events will be held from July 27 to August 2.

Manni has released 115 chapters of the manga on the Comico app, and a new chapter debuts every Monday. The manga collaborated with the apparel brand earth music & ecology in February to release sweatshirts and eight other items featuring images from the manga.
