Missons of Love's Ema Toyama Launches 1-Shot Manga on September 3

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
"Jimi Kon" manga centers on high school girl who vows to marry childhood friend when she turns 16

The September issue of Kodansha's Nakayoshi magazine revealed on Friday that Ema Toyama will draw a one-shot manga titled "Jimi Kon" (Plain Marriage) in the magazine's next issue on September 3.

The magazine describes the manga's story as centering on a girl who vowed to marry her very plain childhood friend — now a math teacher — once she turned 16, but realizes that her friend has completely changed his attitude.

Toyama launched her award-winning Missions of Love (Watashi ni xx Shinasai!) romantic comedy manga in Nakayoshi magazine in 2009 and ended it in June 2015. She launched a sequel manga titled Watashi ni xx Shinasai! Couple-hen (Missions of Love - Couple Arc) in Nakayoshi on March 2, and ended it on June 1. Kodansha Comics publishes the original manga in North America.

A live-action television series adaptation premiered on MBS on March 25 and TBS on March 27 with four episodes, while a live-action film opened in Japan on June 23.

Toyama launched her Aoba-kun's Confessions manga in November 2015, and ended it on June 1. Kodansha Comics is publishing the manga digitally in English.

Kodansha Comics also released Toyama's Manga Dogs, I Am Here!, and Shugo Chara-chan! manga. Tokyopop previously published Toyama's Pixie Pop: Gokkun Pucho manga.
