posted on by Karen Ressler
Kadokawa's Dengeki Bunko imprint will release a new novel by writer Sagu Aoyama and illustrator Mana Kakkowarui on September 7. The novel is titled Gothic & Lolita Ping-Pong.
The novel follows Osamu Sakai, whose childhood friend Harei Saiki is missing. As a ping-pong ace, Harei was trying to pay back her father's 80 million yen debt by entering an underworld ping-pong competition where rich men gamble on players who wear gothic lolita outfits. In order to save Harei, Osamu also makes a life-threatening gamble. (Note: Name romanizations not confirmed.)
Aoyama and illustrator Tinkle's Ro-Kyu-Bu! and Tenshi no 3P! (Angel's 3Piece) light novel series have both inspired anime and manga adaptations. Ro-Kyu-Bu!'s main storyline ended in 2013, and the 11th volume of Tenshi no 3P! shipped in February.
