Anime Limited's release of Mari Okada's film (all editions) is delayed again

Anime Limited has Tweeted the following regarding its home release of Maquia (Sayonara no Asa ni Yakusoku no Hana o Kazarō), directed by Mari Okada.

"We've just been informed that due a delay in printing of a particular element of the Collector's Edition set, we have to push our release of Maquia back by a few weeks. The new UK release date will be 17th June. Really sorry about this."

ANN contacted Anime Limited, which confirmed that the delay applies to the standard Blu-ray and DVD releases of Maquia, as well as the Collector's Edition. All three editions had been due to be released on May 27.

The film was originally scheduled for home release on January 28, but has had multiple delays.

The film opened in Japan in February 2018. Anime Limited describes the story:

The people of Iolph have a lifespan of hundreds of years and maintain their teenage appearances for life, but when the peace of this town is shattered by those who want the secret to their longevity for themselves, a young girl named Maquia is forced to escape. Wandering the land alone, upon finding an orphaned baby she chooses to raise him, but as this boy grows up so the difference in their lifespans is thrown into ever-sharper relief.

The film is the directorial debut of anime screenwriter Okada (The Anthem of the Heart, anohana). She also wrote the film's scripts at P.A. Works.
