Food Wars! Spinoff Manga Shokugeki no Soma: L'étoile Ends

posted on by Jennifer Sherman
Michiko Itou, Taiki Asatoki's series launched in 2015

Michiko Itou and Taiki Asatoki's Shokugeki no Soma: L'étoile manga ended with its 47th chapter on Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ website and app on Friday. The eighth and final compiled book volume is slated to ship in early October.

The series launched with Itou's story and Asatoki's art as a spinoff of Yūto Tsukuda and Shun Saeki's original Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma manga in February 2015. The story centers on "Légume Magician" Kojirō Shinomiya, an alumni from the elite cooking school Tōtsuki Academy where he was an Elite 10 council member.

The main manga ended its run in Weekly Shonen Jump on Monday, but will get three more chapters under the title Shokugeki no Soma: Le dessert in Shueisha's Jump GIGA magazine, starting with the issue releasing on June 27. The manga's 36th and final volume will ship on October 4.

Tsukuda and Saeki launched the manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2012. Chef Yuki Morisaki is credited for cooperation for the manga. Viz Media releases chapters of the manga weekly in English on its app and website, and also releases the manga's compiled book volumes in English. Shueisha also publishes the manga digitally in English on its Manga Plus service.

The anime adaptation's fourth season will premiere in October.
