Blockbuster film will be available on multiple digital platforms, but Funimation availability not confirmed

Funimation has announced that Demon Slayer – Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train will be released in a digital form in the UK and Ireland on July 26, on the following platforms: Microsoft, PlayStation Store, Google Play, Amazon, iTunes and the Sky Store.

Asked on Twitter if the film would also be available on Funimation, the company replied, "No information on this yet, but any information will be shared on our socials and on our website."

Funimation describes the story:

"Set after the events of the television anime series, Demon Slayer – Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train has Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, and Inosuke embark on a new mission. Together with one of the most powerful swordsmen of the Demon Slayer Corps, Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku, they investigate the mysterious disappearance of over 40 people aboard the Mugen Train."

The film is the blockbusting cinema sequel to the Demon Hunter anime series, and is the highest-earning anime film in Japan ever. It ranked #1 in Japan for 12 consecutive weekends at the box office, in terms of number of tickets sold. As of December 27, it had sold over 24 million tickets to earn about US$314 million. The film has surpassed Hayao Miyazaki's 2002 Spirited Away, its last rival for all-time highest earnings in Japanese box office history. In Japan, it began holding immersive MX4D and 4DX screenings on December 26.

The main staff members of the previous television anime returned for the sequel film.
