Live-action series is based on CAPCOM's survival horror game

Netflix is listing its live-action adaptation of CAPCOM's Resident Evil survival horror game for release in India on July 14.

Netflix describes the series:

Years after a viral outbreak caused a global apocalypse, Jade Wesker vows to bring down those responsible while fighting to survive against the Infected.

Bronwen Hughes (The Walking Dead) is directing the series at Constantin Film, and Andrew Dabb (Supernatural) is writing the script. When Netflix first announced the series in August 2020, it posted an image of the script for the first episode, "Welcome to New Raccoon City," of the eight-episode series.

The cast includes Lance Reddick, Ella Balinska, Tamara Smart, Siena Agudong, Adeline Rudolph, and Paola Nunez.

Hughes and Dabb are executive producers with Marry Leah Sutton and Constantin Film's Robert Kulzer and Oliver Berben.

Netflix's separate Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness CG anime series debuted exclusively on Netflix worldwide in July 2021 and has four episodes.

The Resident Evil franchise also inspired Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City, the first live-action film reboot of the franchise. The film premiered on November 24 after a delay from September 3. It opened in India on December 3.
