DMP Announces Four New Yaoi Manga
DMP announces four new Yaoi mangas, the first Yaoi art book ever, and Yaoi novel at YAOI-CON 2005
Four new graphic novels, the first ever Yaoi art book and Yaoi novel are announced at Yaoi-Con 2005.
Los Angeles, CA (November 4, 2005) - DMP, North America's most respected and largest yaoi graphic novel publisher, made good on their promise to deliver blockbuster news this weekend at Yaoi-Con 2005 in San Francisco, CA. A thunderous roar of applause arose as their following titles were announced:
Graphic Novels:
Little Butterfly by Takanaga Hinako: The cute, outgoing Yuki Kojima and the mature misfit, Atsushi Nakahara, are two boys as different as can be - and yet, somehow they are attracted to each other. Kojima seeks to befriend the class outcast, and soon learns of Nakahara's troubled family life - of his uncaring, abusive father and mentally unstable mother. As Kojima yearns to somehow comfort Nakahara, he gradually becomes aware that his feelings for the other boy arise from more than mere sympathy. When Nakahara declares his own romantic feelings for Kojima, their relationship becomes one of sexual exploration as they face their first steps into adulthood together.
You & Harujion (Kimi to Harujion) by Kinoshita Keiko: Haru Akaishi's father has just died, leaving him an orphan at age 17. It seems his father was in tremendous debt and had taken out some shady loans. Just when the Yakuza-esque creditors come to collect, a mysterious lawyer named Yuuji Senoh appears and says he'll deal with the matter personally. As it turns out, Mr. Senoh was someone Haru befriended many years ago when his mother lay bedridden in the hospital, but Haru has long forgotten him. When the bank takes back the mortgage on his house, Haru takes Mr. Senoh up on his offer to live at his apartment. While Mr. Senoh claims that he's only trying to offer financial support to Haru as a minor, perhaps there is a stronger bond between the two than either realize at first.
Lost Boys by Itsuki Kaname: “Will you be our father?” One evening, a boy named “Air” suddenly appears at Mizuki's window, forcibly transporting him to Neverland. Having grown up most of his life without his own father, Mizuki wants nothing to do with being a surrogate father to Air and the other children, but unfortunately stuck without a way out of Neverland, he has little choice but to stay. As he spends time with Air, however, Mizuki is gradually charmed by his boyish innocence.
Same Cell Organism (Dousaibou Seibutsu) by Yumeka Sumomo: Nakagawa and Yokota are two boys very much in love with each other. Yokota is more open with his feelings, but Nakagawa is easily embarrassed of public displays of affection. Though they may be outwardly different, their feelings for each other are the same – their connection is such that they liken themselves to Dousaibou Seibutsu (Same-Cell Organisms).
Novels:
Don't Worry Mama Series by Narise Konohara illustrated by Yuki Shimizu: Left behind on a deserted island he was visiting on business, Yuichi must now spend his days with his good-for-nothing co-worker/boss Imakura until someone realizes they're missing! As the two spend more and more time in each other's presence, Yuichi's “nice-guy” façade starts to break down, and…!
Artbook:
Kiss of Fire by Nitta Yuuka: an illustration collection book featuring Haru wo Daiteita (Embracing Love).
Semi-annual Manga:
J-Boys by Biblos: compilation of various stories from the magazine Junk Boys by Biblos.
You Higuri Recap at Yaoi-Con coming soon:
Although somewhat taken aback by the strangeness that is Aka-san, our dear mangaka queen You Higuri quickly warmed up the DMP staff. Our guest (or Aka-san's “joou-sama”) experienced places like Fisherman's Wharf, a date with two fangirls, the bishounsen auction, the west Hollywood Halloween parade and other things too scary for even Halloween!
Yaoi-manga.com will proudly present this all to you next week along with another huge announcement.
