FUNimation Entertainment and Harmony Gold Bring 'Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles' to Select Theatres Nationwide
FORT WORTH, TX - December 29, 2006 -- FUNimation® Entertainment, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Navarre Corporation and the market share leader for home video sales of Japanese animation in the United States, and Harmony Gold are proud to announce that the award-winning animated feature film Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles is coming to select theatres nationwide as part of the FUNimation Films program.
Throughout the month of January and into February, Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles will be showing in theatres before the DVD is released. FUNimation Films will be presenting the feature film at select locations throughout the United States and fans can catch Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles at theatres in New York, California, Texas, Massachusetts, Indiana, Michigan and Oregon. Robotech is an anime series that introduced an entire generation to anime. The Robotech series ended in a cliff hanger and fans have been eagerly anticipating this release for 20 years. Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles, is the latest exciting chapter of the Robotech saga with a heroic cast of returning characters, led by Scott Bernard and Vince Grant. They fight to end a decades-long struggle against an enigmatic alien race known as the Invid. However, the mysterious disappearance of the legendary Admiral Hunter will unfold in a treacherous mystery that could tear apart our young heroes and threaten their very survival!
Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles recently completed a successful tour of North American Film Festivals in 2006 and it took home the Best Animated Sci-Fi Feature at the 2006 International Horror & Sci-Fi Film Festival.
The Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles DVD will be available from FUNimation Entertainment at retailers nationwide on February 6, 2007.
