Dawn of the Arcana stumbled at bit in its second volume, but with this one we seem to be back on track.
As far as conclusions go, this arc has one of the strongest. While Eye Opening revealed some important information about the Sonozaki family in general and the twins in particular, Atonement makes us look at what information we already have in a different way.
While the story still has its logical flaws, it remains an engaging read that holds up well despite the passing of years and this volume continues to keep up both the promise and nostalgia of Takeuchi's masterwork.
Overall, neither Pokemon the Movie: Black or its White counterpart really stands out from the already packed herd. While not terrible, these are films that can be safely left alone unless you or your child have a compulsion to truly catch 'em all.
There're plenty of laughs to be had, and the portrayal of teen life continues to be more honest than is the norm. If only they'd lose the ambitions of dramatic gravitas, and maybe drown the PE teacher while they're at it.
