Santa Monica, CA (October 4, 2010) -- Anime News Network and Aniplex of America jointly announced today that AnimeNewsNetwork.com will be the exclusive online North American simulcast partner for Aniplex Inc's new fall television series, Oreimo (Japanese title: Ore no Imōto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai). The show is set to premiere on Tokyo MX TV on October 3rd.

Anime News Network is extremely excited to announce Oreimo as our first simulcast,” says ANN CEO Christopher Macdonald, “AnimeNewsNetwork.com's video player platform is an ideal place to reach the hardcore anime consumers, and Oreimo is a great fit for our audience. We've been wanting to simulcast a new anime series, and having a partner of Aniplex's caliber is very important to us.”

Aniplex is proud to be Anime News Network's first simulcast partner,” said Hideki Gotō president of animation business of Aniplex of America. “We enjoy a close working relationship with the online destination for anime fans in North America. I hope this opportunity goes beyond webcasting episodes, and that our partnership creates a fun and exciting environment for fans to enjoy anime and share their passion."

Oreimo is an adaptation of Tsukasa Fushimi's Ore no Imōto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai comedy light novel series, which has sold over a million copies across its first 6 volumes.

The story follows the daily life of an ordinary high school boy named Kyōsuke Kōsaka. Kyōsuke's younger sister Kirino is a pretty fashion model — but also a secret otaku of adult games. Kyōsuke is the only person to whom Kirino reveals her hidden obsession and other issues.

Oreimo is directed by Hiroyuki Kanbe (SaiKano, Basilisk, Full Metal Panic!) with scripts written by Hideyuki Kurata (Kamichu!, Welcome to THE SPACE SHOW, Read or Die). The series also features an all star cast with the voices of Ayana Taketatsu (K-ON!, Yumeiro Pâtissière, Kiss×sis) as Kirino Kōsaka and Yūichi Nakamura (Arakawa Under the Bridge, Clannad, Durarara!! ) as Kyōsuke Kōsaka, as well as Fumihiko Tachiki (Arakawa Under the Bridge, Bleach, Evangelion 1.0), Hitomi Nabatame (Hayate the Combat Butler, SKIP BEAT, Gantz), and Satomi Satou (K-ON!, Hell Girl: Three Vessels and Fairy Tail).

Additional details regarding the Oreimo simulcast will be announced shortly.
