Matsuricon Adds Last Second Guests as Several Cancel Appearance

Columbus, Ohio (August 10, 2011) - Matsuricon regrets to inform that two of their previously announced guests, Brittney Karbowski and Chris Cason, will not be attending Matsuricon 2011 citing personal reasons. The staff at Matsuricon wish them all the best and hope that they will be able to return to a future Matsuricon event. In their place, Matsuricon would like to welcome two new guests, Alexis Tipton and Taliesin Jaffe.

Alexis Tipton has been a Voice Actor for FUNimation Entertainment for nearly three years after acting on the stage for over a decade in three states. Already a fan of anime and already a passionate actor, being able to combine the two was a dream come true. Alexis has been in over 40 titles and has voiced roles such as Yomi Isayama in Ga-Rei: Zero, Musubi in Sekirei, Sun Seto in My Bride is a Mermaid, Moka Akashiya in Rosario+Vampire, Yuki Saegusa in Dance in the Vampire Bund, Mizuki Himeji in Baka and Test: Summon the Beasts, Laila Seiren in Hero Tales, Emi Kizaki in Linebarrels of Iron, Charlotte E. Frobisher in The Sacred Blacksmith, Kumajiro/Chibi Japan in Hetalia, Flesh Backbone in Shikabane Hime: Kuro, and many more both announced and unannounced. Alexis has also provided vocals for Trailer music for both of the Eden of the East movies as well as the FUNimation re-release of the animated series Noir. She has also been an active cosplayer for the past eight years and has been featured in a handful of magazines as well as the book Cosplay in America. Alexis is a world traveler and is finishing up her major in International Studies at UNT, already having completed a minor in Japanese.

Taliesin Jaffe started his career as a child actor appearing in films such as Mr. Mom, 2010 and Explorers, and television shows such as She's the Sheriff, Amazing Stories and The Facts of Life. After a brief adventure living in Japan, he went on to work as an ADR director and script adaptor for animation and video games, and has been involved with the production of shows such as Hellsing, ROD the TV, NieA_7, BECK, Hellgirl, Romeo X Juliet, 3x3 Eyes, The End of Evangelion, Texhnolyze, Haibane Renmei, and Monster. He has also directed the English voice over for many games including the Street Fighter IV series, Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes, Street Fighter X Tekken and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Taliesin has also worked as a voice actor, lending is voice to characters such as Blanka and Adon (Street Fighter IV), Darion Mograine, Admiral Ripsnarl and the Devourer of Souls (World of Warcraft), Edge (Final Fantasy IV), The Flash (Mortal Kombat vs. DC), Takeya (DearS), Joe (Speed Grapher), Junkers (Monster), Hatomura (Paranoia Agent), Mori Koji (I My Me! Strawberry Eggs), Hanasho (Girls Bravo), Kenkichi (Kamichu!), Kannei (Ikki Tousen), and Rufus (Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria) to name a few. Taliesin has won numerous awards for his efforts, and is currently working on no less then three secret projects about which he may not utter the slightest word.

Matsuricon's 2011 guest list also includes voice actors Jennifer Hale, Veronica Taylor, Stephanie Young, Cherami Leigh, Clarine Harp, Micah Solusod, Scott Freeman, Brina Palencia, Ian Sinclair, Sonny Strait, Eric Vale, Kyle Hebert, Josh Grelle, and Eric Stuart, along with musician/producer David Brehm, producer Kevin McKeever, internet celeberty Doug "The Nostalgia Critic" Walker, and artists Joe Kovell and Alex Kolesar (creators of No Need for Bushido), Mindy Timpone, Steve "Warky" Nunez, and Kevin Bolk.
