Anime-ZAP! Welcomes Daniel and Jillian Coglan

Peoria, IL - September 20, 2011 - Anime-ZAP! is happy to welcome Daniel and Jillian Coglan as special guests appearing at the third annual Anime-ZAP! anime convention. Anime-ZAP! 2012 will be held January 14-15, 2012 at the Peoria Civic Center in Peoria, Illinois.

Daniel and Jillian Coglan are a husband and wife team of full-time martial arts instructors, specializing in 16th century Samurai arts. When not teaching at their dojo, the Kojokan, they travel across the country performing and teaching the ancient ways of the most famous warriors in history. With a combined 35 years of experience, their show is a unique blend of history, combative skill, and humor, designed to educate and entertain audiences both large and small.

Beyond their martial arts skills, the two of them collaborated to write, direct, host, and star in a 12 episode TV series entitled "The Way of the Samurai". Daniel is also an author with several martial arts articles published, and he is currently working on his second full-length novel.

Anime-ZAP! is a two day mini con held in Peoria, Illinois. The first year of the convention was planned as an "instant" anime convention, with less than 72 hours notice before the convention happened. There were over 150 attendees at the first event, Anime-ZAP! 2010, and that number more than doubled for the second convention.

Anime-ZAP! is an annual celebration of the fandom surrounding Japanese arts and animation, with a focus on giving attendees a fun place to be creative and make friends. Convention events include a cosplay masquerade, a dealer's room, an artist's alley, and a manga library with over 1500 manga to choose from. There are also a number of panels, workshops, and special events including a dance and a date auction. Anime-ZAP!'s website can be found at http://www.animezapcon.com/
