Seven Seas Announces Werewolf Manga Guardians of Luna

(LOS ANGELES, March 8, 2012) – Seven Seas Entertainment is proud to announce it has licensed the upcoming Guardians of Luna manga series by Nozomu Tamaki, the New York Times bestselling author of Dance in the Vampire Bund.

“Nozomu Tamaki is a brilliant storyteller who has focused on vampires in Dance in the Vampire Bund and angels in our upcoming Angel Para Bellum manga,” says Jason DeAngelis, publisher of Seven Seas Entertainment. “But what could be more exciting than Tamaki-san and werewolves?”

Guardians of Luna is an upcoming anime feature film from Cybergraphix Animation that will be distributed by FUNimation Entertainment in North America. The dark, supernatural tale about an ancient race of werewolves is penned by the writing trio of Emmy Award-winning screenwriter and New York Times Bestselling author Michael Reaves, Avi Melman, and Mallory Reaves. The anime features the voices of Twilight Saga stars Kellan Lutz and Booboo Stewart, award-winning actor John Noble (“Fringe”, Lord of the Rings: Return of the King), actor/rapper Xzibit (“Pimp My Ride”, X-Files: I Want To Believe) and Bruce Boxleitner (Tron, Tron: Legacy, “Babylon 5”).

Nozomu Tamaki's Guardians of Luna manga will run for two volumes and will feature an alternate storyline to the anime. Seven Seas will release Guardians of Luna Vol. 1 in both print and ebook format in Spring 2013.

About the Guardians of Luna anime
One thousand years ago, an ancient race of shape-shifters--known as the Gurrn--fought to protect their home from warring human invaders. When they were defeated, their souls became trapped between the Earth and the Moon, bringing a curse upon the city of Steelhenge. To this day--on the eve of each full moon--a werewolf menace plagues Steelhenge, terrorizing its citizens and shaking the city to its core.

In the present, a young man named Carson Stone is drawn to Steelhenge by a mysterious letter from the father who abandoned him as a child. Carson soon discovers his bloodline connection to the Gurrn and becomes embroiled in their fight. To protect the trapped and tortured souls from city leaders intent on harnessing their ancient powers for nefarious purposes, Carson teams up with three of his fellow werewolves--and some even stranger allies--only to discover that the humans may not be his only enemy.
