HAL Laboratory Releases International Version of Retro Physics-Based Action Game for Mobile Devices

Part Time UFO marks first releases from developer's HAL Egg mobile gaming brand

Tokyo, Feb. 26, 2018 – What happens when a claw game comes to life? You get Part Time UFO, an action puzzler with retro 8-bit graphics developed by HAL Laboratory in which you control a cute anthropomorphic UFO who has a handy extendable claw. The UFO has just arrived on Earth, and what better way to become friends with the citizens than by helping them out with a variety of jobs?

Over the course of the game's 27 single-screen levels, you'll load cargo onto trucks, form human pyramids, prepare elaborate desserts, and build temples and castles. To complete each job, you'll need to grab a number of different items around the level and pile them on a platform. Unlike in a claw game, the challenge isn't in picking up objects. The game uses real-world physics, which means you need to balance the items just right when piling them, or you'll see them tumbling off the platform—and your claw will swing back and forth as you carry your cargo through the air!

Do a good job, and you'll get paid for your work; go above and beyond, and you'll even earn a bonus! With the money you earn, you can buy outfits to change the look of your UFO—and, sometimes, give it additional powers. There are over 20 outfits featured in the game, giving you a wide selection to choose from to customize your UFO.

You'll want to replay each level several times, not only to complete hidden achievements that unlock more jobs, but to see how crazy you can get with your piling skills. A handy feature allows you to instantly share your wackiest or most impressive pileups on social media.

Part Time UFO, was released in Japan in November last year as Hataraku UFO. It marked the first title from HAL Egg, HAL Laboratory's mobile gaming imprint, and the company's first independent release in 25 years. The game is now available in English, Chinese, Korean, French, Italian, German, and Spanish and can be purchased from the App Store, Google PlayTM. It is a for-pay game with no in-game transactions.
