CCharmanderK's Anime

My Collection volume
Akira - Geneon Signature Series Hybrid DVD
Birdy the Mighty: Decode - The Complete Series [S.A.V.E.] Hybrid DVD (Cheap, afforable release of one of the best anime you've never seen. Great dub.)
Blood: The Last Vampire Dubbed VHS (Great film, tape and sleeve are in great quality. 35-minute making-of featurette is a cool bonus.)
Castle in the Sky Hybrid DVD (A good release, but the subtitles need some work.)
Cowboy Bebop: The Movie / American Pop Hybrid DVD (Superb 2-disc set of two amazing and slick animated films. Discs are reprints of earlier releases, so all the extras on the original discs are retained in this set. Bought it for $5 at Best Buy.)
Dirty Pair OVA Series Hybrid DVD (A good release overall, but some mild ghosting in dark scenes (which is also an issue with the Japanese DVDs) and overlay packaging knock it down a bit.)
Dirty Pair - Part One [Litebox] Sub-only DVD (A good release, but is marred by the same problems as the OVA series.)
Dirty Pair - Part Two [Litebox] Sub-only DVD (Same issues as with Part One and the OVA.)
Dirty Pair - Flight 005 Conspiracy Hybrid DVD (Fun little hour-long suspense film. Dub sucks.)
Dirty Pair: Features DVD Collection Hybrid DVD (One great movie, one good movie, and one meh movie in a single set. Remastered video looks excellent, and the Streamline Pictures dubs are fantastic. Not fond of the overlay packaging, though.)
The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya Hybrid DVD (Amazing film with a superb English dub. Second disc is loaded with special features. An ideal release.)
Evangelion: 1.11 You Are [Not] Alone Hybrid DVD (Beautiful release of a superb film. Folding insert with cardboard box is beautiful, and the included booklet is a great touch. Dub is perfect.)
Evangelion: 2.22 - You Can (Not) Advance Hybrid DVD (Great release of a superb film. Not as spiffy as the 1.11 release, though. Dub is, once again, perfect.)
Fight! Iczer-One (OAV) Dubbed VHS 2 (Good series, horrible English dub.)
Final Fantasy: Legend of the Crystals (OAV) Dubbed VHS 1 Screener (Screener copy of the Legend of the Crystals OVA. Tape is in fantastic condition with no noticeable deterioration. Has an excellent English dub.)
Final Fantasy: Legend of the Crystals (OAV) Dubbed VHS 2 Screener (Screener copy of the Legend of the Crystals OVA. Tape is in fantastic condition with no noticeable deterioration. Has an excellent English dub.)
Fist of the North Star - The Movie Hybrid DVD (Gorgeous remastered visuals and improved subtitles from the previous release. Light on special features. Streamline Pictures dub still sucks, though.)
Fist of the North Star (movie) Dubbed VHS Streamline Pictures (Great film, dubbing isn't very good. Tape itself has deteriorated to a degree.)
Full Metal Panic! - The Complete Series Hybrid DVD (Great video, great subs, a bit light on special features. Great series.)
Ghost in the Shell Hybrid DVD (Great DVD with tons of special features, though the video for the film could be a bit better. Used copy, case sleeve has a large scratch in it.)
Here is Greenwood Hybrid DVD (Well-done, enjoyable six-episode Shojo OVA. Purchased for a dollar used at a pawn shop. Dub is bleh.)
His and Her Circumstances - The Appearance of a Normal Life Hybrid DVD 1 (Great opening set with good video quality. Best to watch dubbed, as the large amount of subtitles can distract. Has six episodes (!))
His and Her Circumstances - Love and War Under the Cherry Blossoms Hybrid DVD 2 (Another great set with the same great characters. Sad it doesn't have as many episodes as volume one did...)
Iria - Zeiram the Animation (OAV) Hybrid DVD Image Entertainment (Rather good release of this anime. Lossless audio code sounds sublime.)
Kinmoza! Kiniro + Mosaic - Complete Collection Sub-only DVD (Nice-looking two-disc set.)
Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro - The 35th Anniversary Edition Hybrid DVD (Excellent new remastered transfer, multiple English dub options, newly translated subtitles by Shoko Oono, plus the original 1980 theatrical subtitles. Gorgeous slipcover and reversible insert. A fantastic release all around.)
Rupan III: The Fuma Conspiracy Hybrid DVD (An enjoyable Lupin adventure with some impressive animation. Different voice actors don't capture the characters as well as the originals, and AnimEigo's English dub really sucks. DVD also has horrendous frame ghosting.)
Macross Plus Movie Edition Sub-only DVD (Arguably the best version of one of the best sci-fi anime ever made. Lack of a dub, hard-encoded subtitles and annoyingly frame-bordered video are annoying as all hell, though.)
Magical Girl Pretty Sammy / Tenchi Muyo! Mihoshi Special Hybrid DVD (Fantastic disc with 165 minutes of Tenchi goodness.)
Magical Project S Sub-only DVD 1-2 (Beautiful double-compartment set with reversible cover, insert/mini-poster and double-sided art card. Front cover has lovely reflective foil print. Purchased for $93 on eBay.)
Magical Project S Sub-only DVD 3-4 (Another beautiful double-compartment set with reversible cover and reflective foil printing. Not quite as good as the first set due to lack of an art card, but still worth the purchase. Bought $5 new on Rightstuf.)
Megazone 23 - Part 1 Hybrid DVD (Amazing dub of an amazing film. Release is bare bones, but at least it's bilingual.)
Mobile Suit Gundam 00 the Movie: A Wakening of the Trailblazer Hybrid DVD (Great film, great end to the 00 series. Too bad there aren't any special features besides Bandai trailers...)
My Neighbor Totoro (movie) Dubbed VHS Streamline/Fox Video (Great dub of one of Miyazaki's greatest films. Tape itself is in great condition, but clamshell case has teeth marks from previous owner.)
Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind [2-disc] Hybrid DVD (Superb DVD of one of Miyazaki's best films. Dub is near-perfect, subtitle track is great as well. Purchased used at FYE.)
Outbreak Company - Complete Collection Hybrid DVD (Great three-disc collection with a surprisingly good English dub.)
Plastic Little [Essential Anime Collection] Hybrid DVD (Fun, entertaining and gorgeously-animated popcorn anime. Has the most beautiful breasts I have ever seen animated. Jiggle Counter is fun as well.)
Princess Mononoke (movie) Dubbed VHS Miramax (Amazing film. Found tape at Goodwill for a dollar. Tape is still in great condition, though the last person who had it forgot to rewind the damn thing.)
Legend of the Last Labyrinth Dubbed VHS (Found at Goodwill unopened w/ original shrink wrap. Tape has deteriorated ever so slightly due to non-use, but only appears for a few seconds. Good two-episode anime. Sucks that it'll never be finished. Surprisingly high-quality English dub.)
Project A-ko - Remastered Special Collector's Edition Hybrid DVD (Superb rerelease of a classic anime film. Image transfer is amazing considering it's a Laserdisc transfer, and there are a nice and hefty amount of special features.)
Redline Hybrid DVD
Robotech II: The Sentinels (U.S. OAV) Dubbed VHS Streamline Pictures (Good interquel taking place between Macross Saga and The Masters. Tape has deteriorated a bit.)
Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles Dub-only DVD (Good film, worthy sequel to the original series. Too bad it retcons the hell out of The Sentinels...)
Sailor Moon - Season 1 Part 1 Hybrid DVD (Despite a good dub, horrible frame ghosting, image compression and pillarboxing make this set sub-par at best.)
Sailor Moon - Season 1 Part 2 Hybrid DVD (Far improved from the first set, though a poor image transfer still makes it below-par.)
Sakura Diaries - Collector's Edition [Uncut] Sub-only DVD (Good Video Quality, Great Subs. Show itself is hit-or-miss.)
Samurai: Hunt for the Sword Hybrid DVD (Forgettable two-episode early-Digimation OVA. Dub is pretty decent, and the included blooper reel is a nice touch. The best feature is the Rurouni Kenshin trailer included, though...)
Space Battleship Yamato Blu-ray + DVD combo
Spriggan Hybrid DVD (Great action flick with some nice depth under the hood. DVD I have is seemingly third-hand or more; original cover insert is missing, replaced with a photocopy/printer copy. Disc itself is legitimate, however.)
Strawberry Eggs - Makeup Exam Hybrid DVD 1
Strawberry Eggs - Pop Quiz Hybrid DVD 2
Strawberry Eggs - School Spirit Hybrid DVD 3
Strawberry Eggs - Absent Hybrid DVD 4
Strike Witches - The Complete Series Hybrid DVD 1-2 (Nice-looking two-disc box set. Commentary track is a fun listen, dub sounds great.)
Strike Witches 2 - Complete Collection [S.A.V.E. Edition] Blu-ray + DVD combo (Discs reprinted from earlier LE. Retains all features from previous release. Reversible cover was a smart design choice.)
Summer Wars Hybrid DVD (Amazing sci-fi/slice-of-life film by one of anime's best modern talents.)
Tenchi Forever!: The Movie Hybrid DVD (Great release with a decent amount of special features. Fantastic film, presented in native widescreen.)
Tenchi Muyo! (OAV 1/1992) Dubbed VHS TV Edit Vol. 2 (Episodes 4-6 of the Toonami-edited broadcast of the Tenchi Muyo! OVA series. Features the infamous "digital bikinis" sequence from episode 4. Tape and clamshell case are in good condition.)
Tenchi the Movie - Tenchi Muyo in Love Hybrid DVD (Great film, DVD has tons of special features. Film video is in hard-matted widescreen, though...)
The Transformers: The Movie Dub-only DVD (Good image quality for the most part (there's a six minute stretch of the feature that inexplicably uses a tape master instead of the high-quality film master the rest of the movie uses), 5.1 mix downmixes to a stellar stereo. Light on special features, but the interview with the composer is nice.)
The Wind Rises Hybrid DVD (Beautiful film and an ideal swan song for Miyazaki. Pretty vanilla release, though.)
Wolf Children Hybrid DVD (Beautiful film from one of anime's best modern creators. Dub is superb.)
