What a week for news! We start the show off this week, however, talking about a couple of prestige releases for smart people: GoGo Monster, Viz's latest hoity-toity manga release (and the first time we've actually discussed a manga on the show) turns out to be a non-starter, although The Diary of Tortov Roddle, which is available over on Crunchyroll, was pretty good. Then Justin gets into the whole mess going down at Media Blasters and reminds you to run out and snap up the Media Blasters catalog titles you never got around to buying because they might not be around much longer.
Then it's time to dump gasoline on the controversy fire that is Funimation's license of Dance in the Vampire Bund with Anime World Order co-hosts Daryl Surat and Gerald Rathkolb, the former being ANNCast's first repeat guest! We talk about the oh-so-controversial edits that were going to be made to the DVD version of the show (although now potentially will not happen) and then talk about all the fanboy ragin' that happened as a result. We also talk about whether or not anime really has changed as a medium over the last 10 years, Daryl's wholesale rejection of "ironic enjoyment" and then it's Twitter time as usual. We're all just having so much fun!!
