Appears as Guest of Honor at Big Apple Anime Fest 2003
Multi-Talented director/producer Mr.Usami will introduce his artwork and share behind-the-scene stories with fans.

New York, New York - April 21, 2003: The Big Apple Anime Fest (BAAF), the world's largest anime film festival, proudly announces that famed anime director & producer Mr. Ren Usami will appear as a Guest of Honor at the Big Apple Anime Fest 2003, taking place this Labor Day Weekend in Times Square, New York City (August 29 to 31, 2003). His latest work, Initial D: The Third Stage, is one of the best hits in the U.S. Mr. Usami will be appearing at the Initial D World Premiere on Friday, August 29th, to introduce the movie, and answer questions from the audience after the premiere.

Mr. Usami, President at OB Kikaku as well as at Pastel, is a talented director and producer who is behind numerous popular animes, such as Area 88, Touch, The Sensualist, Ushiototora, Initial D, Fire Tripper, etc. Before being involved in film production, Mr. Usami was an art director and an editor-in-chief for magazines. These experiences helped him to develop the artistic sense which he has displayed in producing top quality animes. Some other works include Nine (1983: Producer), Justy (1985: Producer), Area 88 (1985: Producer), Hono Tripper (1986: Music Producer), Kenritsu Chikyu Boeigun (1986: Producer), Touch 2 (1986: Producer), Touch 3(1987: Producer), and Ushiototora (1993: Producer).
