Awesome I'm checking it out now. Hopefully this will get picked up for a DVD release. But for now let this be a way to get started. I have to admit and I always have the music from those days was really moving.

I believe AWO's own Daryl Surat referred to this show as the "Fist of the North Star of shojo anime". I watched on Viki, and pledged as soon as I learned it was up on Anime Sols. I already have been charged for the other two I pledged to that succeeded, hopefully this will succeed as well.

Given that it has a lower goal, longer pledge length, and has been fully available for a while, it should meet its goal relatively quickly. It's pretty much raised the same amount that other shows ended their pledges with and in only half a day.

Sorry to end the amusing speculation, but the word "E-conte" means "storyboard," and the 'E' is actually the Japanese word for picture, 絵, so it won't necessarily be in digital form.

Edit: removed extraneous offending content, turned in translator badge

Actually, the 'コンテ' (conte) part of the Japanese film term '絵コンテ' (e-conte) is derived from the katakana transliteration (i.e. 'コンティニュイティ') of the English word 'continuity'.

Kōjien says:
Quote:
コンテ コンティニュイティの略。
コンティニュイティ [continuity] (連続の意)映画の撮影台本。シナリオを基礎として各場面の区分・内容・台詞などを詳細に記したもの。コンテ。

(外来語)英語の場合は一般に国籍の注記を省略した。

Sanseidō Kokugojiten says:
Quote:
コンテ(名) 〔← コンティニュイティー (continuity)〕 シナリオを一つ一つのこまかな場面に分けて書きかえた、撮影または放送用の台本。 「絵コンテ」

外来語の原語は……英語以外は言語名をつづりの前にしるしてあります。

Since, if I remember correctly, you are a translator, I conjecture that you have some good Japanese dictionaries aimed at native users of Japanese. (Dr Carmen Blacker, who was a British Japanologist, used Nihongo Daijiten.) When you examine a Japanese term, I would like to suggest to you that you should consult them.

You can't go wrong with Dezaki and Ikeda. They're a winning combination.

Come to think of it, you usually can't go wrong with them individually, either.
