Now THAT is how you make a trailer! Good work, GKIDS. I absolutely cannot wait to finally see this gorgeous looking film. I've heard so many good things. And I've always been a huge fan of Takahata myself.

I was one of the lucky people to attend the premiere at tiff. I really enjoyed the film but thought it would have benefited from some editing in the middle portion. It certainly dragged on a bit and could have been better paced. Having said that, there are some amazing moments in the film and it is absolutely worth seeing. To my surprise, Takahata himself was present and took part in a Q and A at the end of the screening. Such a wonderful surprise to see him there in the flesh, especially since Princess Kaguya is likely to be his last film. It is worth mentioning that the Ghibli documentary "The Kingdom of Dreams and Madness" was also excellent and a must watch for any fan. It was an insightful and heartfelt peak inside the studio and showed a side of the creators (Miyazaki mostly) that has not been documented before.

This is probably the most excited I've ever been to see a Ghibl movie. The animation looks incredible and the story sounds interesting too. I'll definitely try to check this one out if it hits theatres near me.

While I have known about this movie for awhile...this is the first time I've actually seen a trailer for it, and it looks gorgeous! I'm definitely going to watch it when it comes out!

Excellent trailer. I really can't wait for this film. I wonder when it will be screening in MYC. I hope that I don't have to wait too long. With the NYICFF up in 2015 more than likely that will be the time.

I like animated Japanese folktale with the voices of celebrity actors.

Imagine the look on everyone's faces when Takahata must have said that he didn't want the film's characters to look like those of almost every other Studio Ghibli movie ever.

Takahata's not an animator himself. He has the liberty to choose what talents he deems fit for his ideas. That's why almost all of his films employ a different visual style. That's the benefit, he's not bound by his own artistic limitations (in terms of drawing abilities that is). He hired lots of new staff to create this look.

Honestly, the brief drag in the middle is really the only semblance of a complaint that I've heard regarding the film. And I kind of assumed there might be some down time in a 137 minute long film. But I'm okay with sitting back and enjoying the visual beauty of a Ghibli film so I really don't mind.
