I already asked Key to step in, but he said "carry on." At least I know now what kinds of insults are allowed though |

Oh, I most definitely did not say, "carry on with this ridiculous oneupmanship," so don't even go there.
Anyway, this discussion on the main running argument is done. Feel free to discuss all you like how much of a "doodeyhead" the Emperor is or place over/under bets on when Asseylum will wake up (I'm going for episode 19, since big turning points in series often seem to happen around ep 19) or contemplate the notion that Inaho is going to miscalculate at some point and have a crisis of faith. (Wouldn't be surprised if it happens, but I'm not betting on it, either.) Frankly, I'm more interested in when Lemrina is going to try to sleep with Slaine to fully win him over to the "dark side" (and, naturally, steal him away from her half-sister). |

Hmm, I wasn't aware of the Episode 19 phenomenon, before. I'm tempted to guess Episode 18 (or 6 if you are treating this cours as a separate season) because that would be the halfway mark of the series and that's often when something flashy happens. But part of me thinks they won't keep it going that long, so I wouldn't be shocked if next episode ends on her eyes fluttering open.

Nah, I think next episode's a little too early. And when she does, I guarantee you it will be one of these deals where we see her eyes flutter at the end of one episode and she actually wakes up the next.

Princess Asseylum will wake up whenever I finish building my dimensional converter so I can insert myself into any anime. I'll be the Prince that wakes her up with a kiss, of course.
Jokes aside, I feel with all the showcasing of Inaho's bionic eye and its ability to detect lies, I think that Asseylum will wake up amnesiac. Shell somehow end up supporting Slaine's goals and the Martians will broadcast it. And while watching this broadcast, Inaho realizes it's the real princess (with his bionic eye detecting the truth/lies of the speech, of course) and fall into a crisis of faith that Key suggests might occur. A bit about the Season 2 opening song, anyone else notice how after Asseylum disappears before Inaho that there's a gun laying in front of him? So who was she aiming the gun at in the Season 1 opening song? Usually imagery in the opening songs are red herrings but this is just fun speculation I have with original series in attempts to derive clues about future events. |

Oh god no. We don't need that "Spiderman 3" plot device here. At least I don't think it's necessary. I mean I think her being a coma is a little convenient but nothing offensive (although the legitimacy of the super advanced Mars technology is REALLY under question). It'd be a lot better if she woke up and Slaine was able to coax her to his side gradually. Or something along those lines. Heck even if she never ended up approving of it that would be fine. But having her end up on his side without any effort would just suck the life out of her potential character development. She's incredibly naive about the conditions her own people are in so receiving a wake up call (HAH!) from Slaine is in order.
If the princess wakes up only see Lemrina, Slaine and Inaho having a hot steamy threesome while she flashes a trollface at her I'd immediately take back any criticisms I had for this series |

I doubt that alone would mess with his head. He's wise enough to know that even if she seems to believe her own words, she might have been manipulated. He would want to confront her directly. |

Season 2, episode 4:
It was okay , the action was fluid. spoiler[My favorite line from the episode is "Come get me, you twister son of a bitch!" That was just awesome and OST was coordinated quite well.] And as for the rest of the episode, spoiler[I think Inaho realizes what he has to do soon. Sigh...Slaine has changed so much from season 1 now. That Martian uniform is just a symbol of who he really shows alliance to now.] |

Depending on if the writing continues to be... more consistent than season 1... I am looking forward to development with our returning comrades, especially now that Yuki has intentionally distanced herself from her brother as she noticed him becoming a cyborg as a non-improvement as far as there family relationship is concerned.
Something amusing is that Yuki was VERY happy to see Rayet again. spoiler[ It is nice to see that Marito Figured out the enemy unit's weakness and understood that his squad was screwed with it's current resources, I still don't see why Inaho's magic eye was necessary unless his mech is custom built with long range sensors and the eye simply interfaces efficiently (then this is a fault of the narrative not mentioning Inaho's mech had such work done).] Last edited by FenixFiesta on Sat Jan 31, 2015 4:51 pm; edited 1 time in total |

Simple explanation: They couldn't have a combat without giving either Inaho or Slaine something to do in it. (And yes, I'm meaning that partly sarcastically but also partly seriously.)
Anyway, even though I'm not crazy about her character design, I'm starting to like Lemrina more and more. I'm increasingly of the impression that Slaine is not going to be able to just run over/use her without consequence. |

Lucky that bullet was equipped with the best heat shielding ever developed.
Nice to see Yuki and Marito again, although I'm starting to suspect that Marito's doctor is a Martian sleeper agent... |

When one actually takes the time to think about it, if the object survived re entry it would probably have enough kinectic force to cause an explosion that would rival a MOAB detonationspoiler[ and probably obliterate the target, Marito, and probably get yuki and the unnamed soldiers in the blast.] |

Season 2, Episode 4
I felt that Yuki spoiler[distanced herself from Inaho because she felt that she could not be around him without worry too much, and trying to get him out of the situations he needed to be in]. That she was particularly happy to see spoiler[Rayet tells me that she sees her as someone who can protect him]. Slaine took it spoiler[onto himself to destroy the base, making the previous victory not worth it], giving Inaho spoiler[no choice but having to kill him]. |

Apparently, the destructive potential of real life (hypotetical) orbital bombardment weapons is about comparable with their weight in TNT, so the effect might not be that drastic. |

They actually brought back Marito and Inaho's sister? They are like, the best two characters in AZ. The fact that the show has given them such short shrift to this point is a shame.
