I accidentally edited your reply instead of replying to it MaxSouth. sorry.
This is what my indended reply was:
Quote: | But people en masse are ignorant, and it is natural (everywhere, at all times). How would they know of science findings? Very few are able to track those things, and if the media -- even including anime -- does not care to explain harms/benefits of certain foods, people will hardly ever know. |
Sure, that statement is true in some senses, and I too have been annoyed at anime for championing wrong science concepts in certain contexts.
However, if you're trying to get people to actually listen to you, the best strategy is not to alienate them or sound like you're preaching from a high castle (i.e. 'as I know and you don't...'). It's better to kind of just put the information out there. It shouldn't come as a surprise that people are more receptive when you frame information you're giving them as being helpful.

Ugh, that must suck. Sorry.

Episode 4:
Good episode overall. I like how Soma's food affects anyone of all ages regardless how old they are. And this episode also establishes a powerful rival he would have to face soon. Isshiki and his naked apron LOL
Kinda curious to see what other dishes this series will dish out though. I'm not that impressed by the food this week as it was rather simple but the way the show presents the meal make it look very delicious.

That cooking school is weird to put it mildly..
The caretaker, Fumio, sure was an interesting one.
Soma prepared one hell of a meal just from scraps.
Fumio was thrown into her memories..
Poor Megumi is out of luck when it comes to Soma LOL
A bunch of new characters this time too.
Academy hierarchy got explained.

Episode 5:
We get a bit of Erina action. But before that, a little tasty fish meal up for grabs as well. I just love how this series constructs the allusions and metaphors with the competitive angle side of the series. Even the sumo bits in the latter half was amusing to watch.
Oh and I thought Soma/Isshiki has a fun chemistry together. The comedy of this series never ceases to amaze me.

Satoshi has loads of potential.
Looks like Souma met his match!
Or is the other way around?
Of course everyone enjoyed the meal.
That was one fun hangout session ^^
Damn, food wars at the Academy are no joke!
Souma needs to learn a lot about how that place works..

Episode 6:
Delicious episode! It also introduced a prominent rival (Mito) against Soma. I'm curious to see next week's episode especially with all the buildup for the upcoming food battle. Should be fun.
A5 meat isn't going to be easy to defeat though.
Oh and poor hair. He took one for his team D:

Hmm, I guess having equal time makes the fan service more palatable. And the foodgasms weren't offensive this time, so good on 'em.
For awhile there, I was expecting one of the Polar Star chickens would be on the chopping block for the contest.
But unless there's some outside intervention again, it would seem the outcome is a foregone conclusion, with the stakes as high as series-over if he loses.

I thought that for sure he would go for the garlic pork idea that Megumi came up with earlier in the episode that apparently goes well with rice.

Don RS vs Nikumi!
The day for the showdown has arrived.
First official battle of the Food Wars.
That Nizuki really knows her meat.
The audience really didn't appreciate cheap ingredients..
They're just too spoiled, I guess.
Looks like Souma just can't be beaten..
This anime is making me feel hungry.[/spoiler]

Episode 8:
They gave more prominent characters a spotlight including Shinomiya, a person that I find with quite an intimidating presence.
Really good to see so many distinctive competitors tbh with their personalities. Inui is also adorable as well and Takumi has a very strong charisma. Surprisingly more tame than some of the other episodes though but imo, it's still delicious when it comes to the part about food. Of course, there's also still Soma and his fabulous skills in cooking.

Episode 9:
Soma is just that damn aweosme. I love how he is able to collectively focus and cleverly use his skills and resources against his opponent. Good episode overall. There were also some lewd allusions as usual.
The ending shows Soma meeting Erina in a chance encounter. Hmm, that raises some eyebrows

Takumi's story.
It was time for him to reignite his passion.
That Inui-senpai can be pretty scary sometimes.
Yukihira vs Takumi! Guess that was a draw ^^
This anime always makes me feel hungry... *drooling*
Another fun episode!
