As someone who watched this, it's a total waste. Th main story doesn't even get started in these 10 episodes. Rizel is nice, but other then that... waste.

Well, I guess this gives us all hope that our own secret favorite show that's never been licensed, will be someday... still seems like an odd pickup, even if it was cheap.
so... congratulations to some diehard fans somewhere?
For me, looking for Natsu No Arashi, both seasons... I can Crunchyroll it, {I think, still} but I want to own it...

congrats? I hope a out of blue license like this means they have an out of the blue announcement at Milwaukee for a super cool yet kinda old license. That Otaku USA post on Paranoia Agent being owned by Sentai is itching to the bone! I want to know if its legit or not and I hope they announce something like that this week!

That would be more impressive than yet another dip into the "mid/late 00s anime nobody cared/cares about" well, as is apparently the case with Hatenkou Yugi.

Better hope that any licensor of it doesn't just copy/paste CR's subtitles (as Sentai often does), because CR's subs were well below average for Natsu no Arashi. Akinai-chuu's subs were a particular embarrassment to "professional" subbing.
EDIT:

Even looking just at 2008, I have to believe there were better choices out there. They could've worked the fanservice/comedy angle with shows like Astro Fighter Sunred, Kemeko Deluxe, Kyouran Kazoku Nikki, and They Are my Noble Masters, or the serious/artsy/respectable angle with Real Drive or Kaiba.
But who knows, Sentai being Sentai, we could easily see one or more of those titles in the future from them.

I suspect this show was part of a package deal, and probably came bundled with something else that they actually wanted.

Quite frankly, that exact category is where some of my most-wanted anime licenses are housed (Ring ni Kakero 1, GaoGaiGar FINAL, Monkey Turn, Kaiji, Akagi, One Outs, etc.), but I understand if I don't matter one bit. While Hatenkou Yugi isn't one of them, I will likely pick it up simply because I'm a fan of Yasuhiro Imagawa, & he single-handedly wrote every episode this anime (okay, the mangaka co-wrote the last episode with him). Considering how rare it is that an anime he directed or at least did series composition for gets licensed over here, I'll take what we do get.
