Can anyone tell me who does the soundtrack for Berserk, and also who is that is singing the intro tune? It's rather catchy, and I don't fast forward through this one like I do with most others.
susumu hirasawa is one of the best japanese music composers. he's semi well known. the beserk soundtrack is great. i have no idea what the previous poster is talking about when he refers to recycled music. i know that on a few of these cds susumu offers remixes to songs from the berserk ost. one of my favorites is berserk forces 1.5 which can be found on the album Solar Ray. it's called solar ray cause he used solar power to make most of the music on the album. anyway susumu is great and hopefully you can find some of the cds listed. -haWks 2004

There are 11 tracks on the only OST available for this show, and 2 of them are the intro and ending songs.
That means only 9 tracks for the rest of the series. If that's not recycling music, then those tracks must be pretty long, or very chopped up to divide them into so many episodes.
I'm not as familiar with Hirasawa-san's music as you are, but from what I've heard in Berserk, I'm sorry to say it's only slightly above average to me. Nonetheless though, I feel it fit the series very well.
Other than the fact that there aren't many tracks, the music isn't as bad you think I say.
