Since sometimes I can't tell whether the subs I'm watching are official or not -for instance, the video I got this from doesn't have a fansub group name anywhere I could find, though I must also admit I wasn't particularly searching for it-, I prefer to use the broader term without specifying just so some people don't think I'm purposefully trying to deceive them or something

Wait is this spoiler[Ikenai Borderline from Macross Delta? I believe it's sung on 2 occasions: episode 1 and 8. I'm guessing this is from episode 1, since episode 8 is not a week old yet. Sung by all members of Walkure (+ Freyja).] I was like: "Damn this feels familiar".

The lack of official subs for this franchise is pretty infamous. Though the Japanese Blu-ray will have English subs. So you could use official ones if you import.

I feel derpy for not getting it without the hint. I'm also baffled that no one else got it before me (except for Vaisaga, the all-knowing).
Next from fansubs. Character A: I'm going to die soon. And I plan on bringing others down with me. I ordered Character X to go berserk in Hong Kong until the whole city is a sea of flames. And I ordered Character Y to get rid of the biggest cancer of all... the one that caused your downfall. Character B: Cancer? Character A: The woman, Character B. Haven't you heard yet? I've heard every single word of it. Her body was mangled, still wearing her cute school uniform. I heard she was pretty tough though, and she didn't beg for her life. Her last word were "I'm sorry." I wonder who were they meant for? It brings tears to my eyes! Character B: Y-You're lying! Character A: It's true! I wanted to show you a picture of her body so I could see the despair on your face, but I think I'm going to resist. 'Cause you know what, the damage is written all over your face, Character B! Character B: *grits his teeth in anger* Character A: "My woman in Tokyo! I'm already too late! Aww, poor Character C! She was such a nice girl, too!" Character B: Character A! As it happens, the only song in an anime to which I paid attention to the lyrics was It's Only the Fairy Tale from My-Hime. I also pay alarmingly little attention to spell chants.

The speaker and series were correct, but of course, the post lacked a context altogether. Frankly, I am surprised it turned out to be a stumper. sub: A: Which of the two ogres would you rather be friends with? B: Which of the two? A: The red ogre, who can only wish and be taken care of by others, or the stupid blue ogre, who basks in self-sacrifice? A: What a foolish answer. If you want to befriend both, you must be the indecisive, adulterous type. You'll regret it one day. |
