Season 2, episode 20:
Solid episode overall as I had expected which Midousuji makes those ironic rants about GROSS. Anyways, I got the fierceness vibe from this race already so I hope it won't drag too much.
Oh and ....lol, is Manami's hair alive or something?!

Imaizumi vs Midousuji!
Guess it's time to take revenge.
A long awaited an overdue.
Just how much strength have all of them left?!
Midousuji snapped.
Imaizumi was just as crazy as him!
That DH was insane & amazing at the same time.

Season 2, Episode 20
That is one of the most ridiculous final form reveals I have ever seen. Apparently it allows Midousuji's muscles expand like crazy as well as his neck. Also apparently defy gravity.

That road grate was like a death trap. It's a wonder it doesn't crash everyone.

They're only really dangerous when you're going absurdly fast, or it's wet.
The "FINAL FORM" thing was funny... so over the top.
I just learned from the credits that the girl in the hat is his girlfriend...and she has no name.
With him leaning that far forward, Imaizumi could have sent Midousuji flying by barely touching his rear wheel...

Season 2, episode 21:
That was an intense but some of the small talk for the first half didn't really interest me much. Thankfully, we have Minami with his wings (foreshadowed already) at the end so I expect the race to get more intense from here.
And as usual, I thought the ending was priceless.

Midousuji made a transformation.
His battle with Imaizumi was intense as hell!!
The Mt. Fuji love side story was kinda fun ^^
Midousuji was going crazy over giving it his all.
Imaizumi was relentless at keeping his lead.
Didn't think this would happen.
Midousuji collapsed, Imaizumi's frame cracking & Hakone caught up?!
It's gonna be one hell of a finish!

Season 2, episode 22:
Not bad this episode although some of the flashbacks dragged it. I like how it characterizes Manami and Sakamachi's friendly rivalry though, which imo is a sharp contrast to the aggressiveness that Midousuji displayed.
Anyways, looking forward to the conclusion to this race. Only 2 episodes left so I hope it won't leave on another cliffhanger; although that might not be a bad thing since it could be more adaptations of future seasons.

Not much further until the finish line.
It keeps getting closer with each episode.
Onoda is carrying all the hopes and dreams of the Sohoku team!
And he keeps on impressing!!!!
The look on Manami's face said it all.
Still, it wasn't gonna be easy to beat Manami..

I agree... the flashbacks should have been trimmed to their bare minimums (by at least a minute or so).
But otherwise it was a great one.
I almost suspect 23 will be the last episode if only because the "next episode" text was red instead of blue.

Going to keep this short but whoever wins deserves it. Up to this point, both Sakamachi and Manami are winners in my book for the sheer amount of effort they are showing to the world.

Manami's wings fell off.
Guess he overdid it and was done for.
Midousuji was out on his back. He already gave it his all and failed.
Manami is the next in line for failure.
Onoda was pushing it hard!
It was amazing to see him catch up to Manami.
Time to cross the finish line!
Finally! Onoda's mom realized what her son was doing.
I knew it... cliffhanger!

In sports anime, the team you're supposed to be rooting for almost invariably loses. That being the case, Onoda might not win, but I think story-wise, he kind of has to.
Manami already got his victory: entering into the fabled realm of the 10th gear without it destroying him. He doesn't need the win on top of that to come out of this with something to be exhilarated about. But if Onoda doesn't win, he's let his team down and we'll have to sit through him feeling terrible and that will be his take-away, with some character building in the process I guess, but he really doesn't need that and neither do we - he needs a win!

The fact that there's a shitload more of manga makes me inclined to believe Onoda will lose, but I agree that narratively, he should get the win. They've already defeated Midousuji, and the guy even acknowledged Onoda as a (gross) worthwhile competitor, and unlike other sports shows (KuroBas, Haikyuu), there is no Winter or Spring competition to take revenge if they lose, the 3rd years are most certainly retiring after this and they make up most of half of the team. On the other side though, I've grown fond of Hakogaku almost as much as Sohoku, so I don't want either team to lose; but Hakogaku won last year due to Fukutomi's unwitted cheating, so Sohoku really deserves this. I'm rambling now. Waiting a whole week to know the conclusion will be torture
