NEWS: Kill la Kill English Dub to Premiere at Anime Expo

Barring a miracle, it's guaranteed to be a non-union Bang Zoom dub. That means we can expect the typical group of AX idol winners, low-paid fandubbers, and a miscast Kyle Hebert. Also a phoned-in performance by Wendee Lee. Any other LA names that show up will be in supporting roles requiring less than two hours of studio time to record.

That was really fast, but I'm happy about it! Hope we get a cast list soon! Also, I agree it should be on Toonami if they don't have to censor it too much.

*checks wiki* Only thing I saw him in was MVC3 and he sounded ok there.

I know I will get crap for this, but can't people be happy with the announcement of a new dub? I hear all the times that less and less dubs are made each year. And yet, when an amazing anime like Kill la Kill gets a dub, some people start to poop on the parade saying how the English dub will be shit in comparison to the Japanese dub.

I hate this f.ucking attitude.

Me, I rather prefer dubs, since anime is a visual medium, and as such I'd rather look at the visuals than have to read a bunch of tiny words along the bottom of the screen, especially for a heavily visual show like Kill la Kill.

It's the internet. Of course people are gonna be pissed. I'm just happy the thread hasn't turned into a flame war, and that people are actually being constructive in their criticisms, rather than just bitching for the sake of bitching.

Many dub fans announce their disappointment when a show they like didn't get dubbed. Reasonable, but then there's people who outright despise dubs and basically call dub fans illiterate morons in comments that, I won't lie, piss me off. Having an opinion is fine. Being a total dick about it isn't.

Despite your first paragraph being you spewing biased BS I finished reading the blog, and sadly your little wall o' text didn't improve.

The way you curve things towards the people who prefer dubs as being some kind of little angels while people who prefer to watch their anime subbed as "the bad guys" in the way the two groups express themselves about the sub & dub topic made me barf trampolines out of my nostrils. And yeah, anime is indeed a visual medium, I get it, but I can watch subbed anime and still have the same visual experience as you do with dubbed. You might have a hard time reading, but you don't need to come up with some grand excuse just to cover that up, as many people, especially those who have not grown up in an English speaking country can almost naturally watch TV series/movies subbed without missing a thing on screen.

And the part you wrote about live action... Ughh, that was just painful to read. I actually had to save the entire blog post on my HDD for future... references.

I'm pretty sure it was said that getting Kill la Kill on Toonami was near an impossibility/slim, seeing as the show has a great deal of fanservice.
