The Irregular at Magic High School Gets New Manga on October 18

Square Enix's Monthly G Fantasy magazine's website announced on September 17 that Tsutomu Satou, Kana Ishida, and Tsuna Kitaumi will launch a new manga based on Satou's The Irregular at Magic High School (Mahōka Kōkō no Rettōsei) light novel series in the November issue, which will ship on October 18. The Mahōka Kōkō no Rettōsei: Double Seven-hen manga will adapt the light novel's 12th volume, known as the "Double Seven" arc. Satou is credited for original story, Ishida is in charge of character design, and Kitaumi is drawing the manga. The manga's first chapter will include an opening color page.
Square Enix describes the new manga's story:
Tatsuya and Miyuki desire a quiet school life. However, when new "numbers" appear at First High School, will their lives once again be full of trouble?
Kitaumi previously drew the art for the four-volume Mahōka Kōkō no Rettōsei manga and the five-volume Mahōka Kōkō no Rettōsei: Kyūkōsen-hen manga.
Tsutomu Satou began writing the novel series with character designs and illustrations by Kana Ishida (Aquarion Evol character design) in 2008 under the Dengeki Bunko label, and Kadokawa published the 20th volume of the light novel series on September 10.
Yen Press licensed the original light novel series and the spinoff manga The Honor Student at Magic High School. The company released the second novel volume on August 23 and the fourth manga volume on September 27.
A 26-episode anime adaptation of the novels debuted in April 2014 from director Manabu Ono at Madhouse. Aniplex of America licensed the anime and released it on home video last year. The novels are inspiring a new anime film, titled Gekijōban Mahōka Kōkō no Rettōsei (The Irregular at Magic High School The Movie), which will be a completely new work with an original new story written by Satou.
