Doesn't the title "AM Driver" sound odd? The original title was "Amdriver (アムドライバー)." To me "AM Driver" sounds like a truck driver who only drives his truck from midnight to noon and only listens to AM radio. Rolling Eyes

Actually it's Get Ride! AMDRIVER (sorry I'm a bit crumpy about capitalization he he), but I agree the title used in English sounds weird.
I have to admit that this series is a risky move, taking in consideration is two years old and doesn't have a lot of buzz on the US fandom. But they could get a better sale if they do a joint venture with a television broadcaster. Anyways, I'm happy to see that more US companies are taking risky moves to bring more Anime to America.

While I'm happy to hear this news (it was largely ignored by fansubbers) it's ultimately pointless if they can't get the toys licensed as well. While the show did have some potential from what I had seen in the first episode, it's still just another series designed to sell toys for Konami. I'll cross my fingers on the hoping that they toys get released, I can't see the show taking off without them.

Illumitoon is setting themselves up to be in a good position, Beet will be their bread winner for a while. By all rights that series should have been licensed long ago by another company.

If all you're going to say is 'grr fuk 4kids! baseless speculation! my friend of a friend tells me...' then you're probably better off lurking.

I suppose if you look that Illumitoon has said they are going to focus on kid friendly animes, much like 4K!ds claimed, then you are correct in saying they could be the next 4K!ds, but when you look at the works that Barry Watson has assisted FUNimation with, and if you look at the statement they've made by saying they're keeping the original music, and if you look at them using probably the same VA's as FUNi, then they are defintley not being the next 4K!ds. I do expect some edits to take place as they target the shows for kids, but I don't expect Illumitoon to use all the digital paint and splicing that 4K!ds is infamous for.

In their original press release they stated that they would be leaving the japanese audio in tact and that they wished to appeal to the core anime fans.

From what I read, it sounded more like 'we hope we can retain the original japanese track + subtitles', rather than a gaurantee.
