| Though based on what I've seen, I seem to really like Mecha, so being on episode 6 with YTV (actually YTV messed up and played 6 before episode 4 started... long story) and disappointed with Eureka 7 left me kind of surprised. Glad to hear it gets better though; if episode 11 is really as good as you say (I know that kind of "moment" you're talking about), I may pick up the DVD! |

You forgot one "-": Plotline still nowhere in sight.
As pretty and shiny as the show is, it takes entirely too long for Eureka 7's main plotline to get going. Nobody's motives are revealed for quite some time yet, either. |

| The plotline is in sight, it's just not spoonfed to you which is not an uncommon style of storytelling, especially in anime. It takes time, but there's plenty of hints as to what the bigger picture. |

Don't insult my intelligence. There's a difference between a purposely vague plot to engage a viewer's attention to details and lazy storytelling in which even the plot elements are hazy and obviously made up on the spot. Eureka 7 is a blatent example of the latter. There's a lot of so-called "character development", but very little plot development. There's no reason why they couldn't have done both at the same time - cramming the plot into the latter half of the series is inexcusable, and is one of my gripes with this otherwise decent series. |

I think it's kind of silly to complain about this, considering the episodes on this DVD are pretty much ENTIRELY plot related. By the end of this DVD pretty much the entire plot is introduced, whether through the dialogue and forshadowing. Considering this is still the beginnning of the series, to call it "lazily made up on the spot" is a pretty mistaken opinion, especially since it sets up so many important plot points and details for the future. |

It is. That entire arc of episodes is breathtaking, so stick with the show. Trust me. |

If I wanted to insult your intelligence I'd have just made it more straightforward and gone with some name calling or mocked your mother. But thanks for overreacting.
It's not lazy storytelling, matter of fact it's a style of storytelling that's far more difficult to write effectively. They're giving you the story from an outsider perspective, but an outsider that's given the information as the main character is given the information with a few hints of the greater picture thrown in here and there. The plotline is going, but as I said all of the elements at play just aren't being spoonfed to the viewer, it's a different style and just because it's not one you're fond of doesn't make it a poor or lazy style, I happen to like that style of storytelling actually. |

Yeah, I've slogged through much worse, so I'm not exactly the type that quits after a few episodes (especially since it's still okay). My friend gave up after one episode though, I'm gonna try and convince him to keep watching. |
