Well, I think most people were banking on this being the license, so it's not a huge surprise. A good choice and hopefully they'll do a great job with it. I'm a big fan of the manga but compression of the material in the anime threw me a bit.

I'll wait to see who is cast in what roles before I totally jump for joy. (Barring any serious miscasting, I'll probably be picking this one up.)

Yes, yes, YES! Very Happy It's about freakin' time!! I'm so happy that FUNi got it; they'll handle this series well, given the quality of their most recent releases.

I see Claymore possibly airing on IFC in future, if not [adult swim].

EDIT: That video announcement was pretty funny.

I was expecting Viz to get claymore, and i was also expecting something a little more major from funi for their first license of the year......

I was expecting Viz to get Claymore also, but FUNi is so much better. This is a pretty major acquisition though. Claymore was quite popular amongst the fansub crowd last year, and the manga rocks.

Not much of a surprise, but a good pickup because it will be really popular I think. Maybe this is once of those shows I'd actually watch dubbed, because the kid that follows Claire around made me drop the show. Every time he opened his mouth I wanted to shoot myself. That and the fact I wasn't really interested in it, not my type of show.

Nice to know, that not everything that is somewhat popular gets licensed by Viz.

Please, just don't use Funi's own studio for ADR. Gross!

Right. IFC is the more logical choice since they wouldn't necessarily have to edit anything (unlike [adult swim]). We'll have to see what happens.

Question Why do you say that?

I wanted somone else to get the license for this series. I wasn't all that impressed with the last license Funimation had (BECK: Mongolian CHop Squad). I'm going to stick with the fansub on this one.
