Panty - Jamie Marchi ~ Not a big Jamie fan since I feel her acting skills (which are good) dip a little when she has to express some real emotion like in Witchblade, but she does crazy girl perfect, so I love this pick. Also, from the commentaries I've heard her do, I think she's the natural fit, if you know what I mean. I'm also glad to see she's one of the writers since I love her work there (Yamada and Hetalia in particular).

Stocking - Monica Rial ~ I would've preferred Cherami Leigh since her cute, little voice would've provided great entertainment when she starts slinging the vulgarities, much like how I loved Carrie Savage as Penny in Shin Chan. However, Monica is an old pro and has very cute voice her self, so I'm fine with this choice, though it was fairly predictable.

Garterbelt - Chris Sabat ~ I like the match on paper, but hearing the trailer they aired during the live stream is giving me second thoughts. It sounds like he had to give up some of the bass his voice has so he could yell and scream like a gangsta, and it's just alright. I did like the performance, though, so it should be pretty easy to overlook the sound. Too bad Funimation couldn't grab Phil Lamar or Dean Redman. Or, in a dream world, Samuel L. Jackson. Laughing

Briefs - Joel McDonald ~ Love it. After hearing Joel in Baccano and Sekirei, I think he's the best "nerd voice" Funimation has. People had Todd immediately pegged here, and that's an obvious and good choice, but I always wanted Joel.

Scanty - Colleen Clinkenbeard ~ Colleen is never a bad choice for any character in any show - she's great. Really looking forward to hearing her bust out the RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRULES.

Kneesocks - Cherami Leigh ~ Only questionable pick. I love Cherami, but unless she breaks out a never-before-heard deep voice, I'm not sure. I have a similar issue with her in My Bride is a Mermaid since I don't think she managed to do a convincing Dark Luna, even though her Light Luna was good; she couldn't do the crazy. Kneesocks, while not crazy, has a voice similar to what one would use for a character like Dark Luna as far tone and sound goes, and since Cherami didn't do that well, I'm hesitant. Maybe she finds a way to make it work, and so I'm especially looking forward to see what her and Chris Sabat came up with. I really wish her and Monica would've been switched, though, since Monica does deeper voices really well.

Corsett - Chris Ayres ~ Dynamite. After hearing Chris do Freiza in DB Kai, I'm convinced he can do anything, especially villains.

July can't come fast enough.

Typical casting is typical.
I expect many people will enjoy yet another Funimation level dub.

And why wouldn't they? The reason a lot of people like FUNimation dubs is because they actually sound GOOD.

Yeah, I agree, their casting is pretty typical and they use a lot of the same people. But at least those people can actually ACT. They're putting out content that's a lot better on the ears than Bang Zoom is doing recently, with their no-talent newb actors in Madoka and Squid Girl.

Well I just want a release date. I don't really care for a dub, the sub was priceless.

I was a little puzzled by this at first too, but after listening to Kneesocks in sub again, honestly her sub voice isn't really all that deep to begin with. If Leigh deepens her voice a bit, she actually could sound a lot more like sub kneesocks than the people I originally expected to be cast as her like Monica, Brina, or Trina. I think it'll work.

Probably asking for a lot, but I hope they get Peter Cullen and Frank Welker for episode 7's Transformers parody. The Japanese dub got the original voices of Optimus Prime and Megatron back for that episode, it would be nice if the English dub did the same.

I was so looking forward to the bluray release for this series. And now that it's cancelled, and I'm moving away from the dvd format, I'm kinda bummed that I'm probably gonna pass on this series =(

Even with better audio I'm still torn on Garterbelt. Love the performance (or at least the snippet), but the voice just seems...off. I think the more I hear - as in watch full epiosdes in a marathon - the less I'll think about it.

It's not that Kneesocks has a deep voice, it's that Cherami's voice is naturally so high and and bubbly and cute - not like Kneesocks. I'm not going to judge "yay" or "nay" before I even hear it, but I shall remain leery. Also, since you mentioned it and I never thought of it, Trina would've been a really good choice.

It's not canceled, they have the BD rights. Problem is that Kadokawa is putting an embargo on all foreign BDs because they're idiots.

Finally. It's only been a year since they announced this title...

Seems like a decent cast. This is the kind of show where I don't mind hearing mainstays. Nice to see Chris Sabat doing more voicework. He's been pretty quiet in recent years compared to the amount of work he got 5-12 years ago.
