Capcom Registers Trademarks for Onimusha in Several Countries Outside Japan

CAPCOM filed a trademark for "Onimusha" in multiple territories outside of Japan earlier this month, including in Mexico, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, the Philippines, Singapore, and with the European Union Intellectual Property Office.

CAPCOM last released Onimusha Soul, a port of the 2012 browser game, in 2014 on the PlayStation 3. AnimeWorks released Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams, a CG film compiling footage from the 2006 PlayStation 2 game of the same name, in 2013.

CAPCOM producer Yoshinori Ono previously stated in 2016 that plans to revisit the series were in discussion "at high levels."
