Trivia:

Many of the locations in Saikano are real Japanese Locations. In Episode one when the guys go to Sapporo to shop, you catch a good glimpse of downtown's Odori Park, which is the site of the famous Snow Festival.

The school Shuji, Chise, and Akemi attend is Hokkaido Shibetsu High School.

At one point in episode 1, Chise laughs at Shuuji, telling him, "You said it again. 'I'." This is because Shuuji has inadvertently switched between two of the Japanese words for "I." Shuuji normally uses "ore," but switches to "boku." While "ore" has a strong, masculine connotation, "boku" is used by younger boys and sounds childish coming from Shuuji; thus his embarrassment and Chise's laughter. (In the dub, the word "cute" is the source of embarrassment.)
