A young man tries to battle back against giant humanoids who feast on humans in this graphic, visceral, and fantastically intense action/horror story. Its great strengths overcome writing and production value inconsistencies.

If this film causes more permanent damage than most Pokémon outings, that's wholly the fault of its main character, Keldeo.

All the elements come together just right to produce a thrilling, dramatic, inspiring, and ultimately very satisfying conclusion to a sci-fi series that's a bit different from the norm. While the series as a whole may not quite rank among the best of 2005, this individual volume does.
