Anime of Bleach Manga Story Airs 1 Day After Printing
posted on by Egan Loo
This year's 52nd issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine is publishing a manga prologue to this year's Bleach: Jigoku-hen film on Monday — and the animated version of that prologue will air in Japan the next day. The current issue actually contains two manga installments by creator Tite Kubo, and one of them is "Bleach the Unforgivens," the side story that serves as the prologue to Bleach: Jigoku-hen. On Tuesday, TV Tokyo and its network affiliates will air the animated version, "Gekijō Kōkai Kinen! Jigoku-hen Joshō," as the television anime's 299th episode. The film itself will open on Saturday, December 4.
The manga will mark its 10th anniversary in Shonen Jump next year, and the 47 current compiled book volumes have sold 67 million copies. As Eiichiro Oda did with last December's One Piece Film Strong World, Kubo has been personally overseeing the production of the new Bleach film.
