Rurouni Kenshin Poll: Favorite Character Then & Now

The official Japanese website for the Rurouni Kenshin television anime series posted the results of a new poll on Thursday. The poll compared who was fans' favorite character back when the show was airing on television — and who is fans' favorite character now. Here are the results of the survey:

The poll was conducted on the official website between May 10 and May 23.

The television anime series is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year. Last month, Shueisha's Jump Square magazine announced that a new Rurouni Kenshin anime project had been green-lit. The magazine also noted that the Blu-ray Disc versions of the two Rurouni Kenshin original video anime (OVA) projects and the Rurouni Kenshin: Ishin Shishi no Chinkonka [Requiem] film will ship between August 24 and October 26.

The production company Aniplex of America announced at its FanimeCon panel on Saturday that it will release the OVA projects and the film on Blu-ray Disc in North America on the same days that they ship on Blu-ray in Japan.
