At the first event for the Itsuka Tenma no Kuro-Usagi (Itsu-Ten) school fantasy anime, the staff members announced that they are making an animated crossover between Itsu-Ten and The Legend of the Legendary Heroes (Densetsu no Yūsha no Densetsu or DenYūDen) fantasy story. According to the Itsu-Ten anime's official Twitter account, the collaborative effort will be part of the unaired 13th Itsu-Ten episode which will be bundled with the ninth Itsu-Ten light novel volume in December. Not coincidenally, Takaya Kagami wrote the original light novels for both Itsu-Ten and DenYūDen.
The Itsu-Ten "reverse school fantasy" light novels follow a seemingly ordinary high school boy named Taito Kurogane (Shinnosuke Tachibana) whose life is changed after an encounter with a female vampire named Saitohimea (Megumi Takamoto). Taito and his allies fight against the evil plan to resurrect the powerful vampire Bahlskra.
Between April 27 and May 6, the Itsu-Ten staff asked fans to request which story ideas and characters that they wanted to see in the 13th anime episode. In addition to the Itsu-Ten/DenYūDen crossover, the 13th episode will also have the "Jinkaku Irekawari" (Personality Swap) story in which the character Mirai assumes Saitohimea's body, as well as the "Mirai no Yume" ("Mirai's Dream") story.
The Itsu-Ten television anime series will premiere on July 8, while the DenYūDen television anime series aired last summer.
