All Nippon Airways (ANA) presented its newest Pokémon jet, "Peace Jet," in a ceremony at Tokyo's Haneda International Airport on Monday. The Boeing 777-200 jet was already unveiled on Saturday at Sendai Airport, the airport closest to the Great Eastern Japan Earthquake (Higashi Nihon Daishinsai) disaster of March 11.
This summer's new design expresses the wish for "a world where the children's futures are filled with smiles and peace."
Not coincidentally, the new designs feature Zekrom, Reshiram, and Victini — the titular Pokémon from the Gekijōban Pocket Monster Best Wishes! Victini to Kuroki Eiyū Zekrom and Gekijōban Pocket Monster Best Wishes! Victini to Shiroki Eiyū Reshiram films which opened in Japan on Saturday.
20 local elementary school children, costumed versions of the characters Pikachu and Victini, the plane's captain, and the crew presented the jet on Monday.
To commemorate the new design, ANA is giving away a special "sky-flying" version of the Pikachu character for the Pokémon Black and White games at Haneda from July 18 to September 30.
